Doctor Oz Recommends Resveratrol For Anti-Aging

Dr Oz recommends Resveratrol

Dr Oz recommends ResveratrolAs I’ve shared before I’ve had a long-term passion & commitment to see natural solutions for our skin & organic nutrition for internal health become readily available – especially in the area of anti-aging so when I came across Dr Oz, many years ago promoting Resveratrol I became quite excited.

I think most of us would be aware that Dr. Oz is the Turkish-American cardiothoracic surgeon & professor at Columbia University; he’s an author and came to prominence on Oprah as a health expert addressing various health concerns & now has his own successful day show. He’s a great advocate for health and wholeness.

resveratrolHe has always promoted Resveratrol, an anti-aging supplement that has become increasingly popular over recent times. Supplements containing extracts of Resveratrol help to counteract the aging process every human has. Resveratrol also found in red wine, and has been found to increase your longevity and increase energy each day. Dr Oz said that to get all of the benefits without taking the Resveratrol supplement, we would have to drink over twelve bottles of red wine each day – ah!!!! How totally silly would we be.

He also stated that with the correct supplement and dieting, we could very easily live to be over 100, and with as much spark as somebody a quarter of our age. Now, is that getting you interested to know more?

Resveratrol anti-aging pills work by adding more strength to the cells.
Our cells become more efficient and faster to cure themselves.
To give your cells an extra boost, Dr. Oz suggests a resveratrol supplement.

LifeCell Collagen SupplementsHere’s a few benefits of our LifeCell Collagen Capsules, packed with Resveratrol:

  • Decreases odds of diseases related with age such as diabetes, Alzheimer’s and even cancer
  • Diminishes the risk of diseases; especially heart disease
  • Increases vitality
  • Increases the longevity of our lives; which in turn makes us happier and more satisfied.
  • Assist in the rebuilding of Collagen.

Due to these new scientific findings, the Resveratrol anti-aging capsule has received lots of media exposure and has become one of the most popular supplements in the marketplace today to look younger and more youthful. The disease-fighting benefits of resveratrol are vast, along with great improvements to the skin particularly in the rebuilding of firmness and collagen to the face.

Choose Skincare That Nourishes Your Skin

Natural Skin Care Products
Think about your skincare routine as “treating” your skin with our LifeCell Cream. Then “feeding” your skin with our CELL Infuse products to receive the maximum results, so when you look in the mirror a younger you will be looking back. When purchasing skincare products, it’s essential to read the labels on everything from soaps to moisturizers and deodorants. Ingredients shouldn’t read like the index to a chemistry textbook.

Avoid products with ingredients like parabens, triclosan, mineral oil, sodium laurel, phthalates, or toluene. Many of these are made from petroleum. They can disrupt your endocrine system. Some have been linked to cancer, liver or kidney disease, and respiratory failure.

gree-tea-bagsInstead, look for ingredients that sound like foods to nourish your skin.

Here are three foods that work beautifully as skincare both inside and outside.

Green Tea: Sip three cups of green tea a day for its antioxidant power and to help reduce skin cancer risks. To relieve puffy eyes, chill the damp tea bags in the refrigerator. Apply to closed eyes for 10-15 minutes.

pumpkin-for-skin-carePumpkin: Carotenoids give pumpkin its distinctive orange color and wrinkle-fighting antioxidants. Pumpkin’s powerful enzymes also deep clean and hydrate skin. Combine two cups canned pumpkin, ¼ cup plain yogurt, four tablespoons honey and one tablespoon pumpkin pie spice in your blender. Smooth some on your face. Leave it for 10 minutes, then rinse. Eat the rest for dessert.

pomegranatesPomegranate: This fruit can help you attain younger-looking skin, and it’s also loaded with antioxidants, vitamins K and C, potassium, copper, zinc and iron. Pomegranate can help to prevent premature skin aging and keep our complexions smooth and radiant.

And remember, organic ingredients are always better when you can find them.

Here is another thought!!

Could you eat your skin-care?  It needs to be that safe.

Did you know your skin is just like a sponge? Whatever you put on the outside inevitably ends up inside. Our skin is a two-way street. What starts out on your plate eventually shows up on your face. Drinking plenty of water and eating lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats will help your body build fresh, glowing skin.

On the flipside, whatever you put on your skin makes its way to the rest of your body. Just as your body absorbs food from your gut, it also absorbs whatever you put on your skin.

That’s why you shouldn’t put anything on your face or body that you wouldn’t eat.

Here’s to being more beautiful on the inside and outside!!

Halt the Aging Effects of Stress in Just 10 Minutes a Day

meditation for stress reduction

Did you know that people with the most job stress have the shortest Telomerestelomeres? Here’s why this is so important…

Telomeres are little caps on the ends of your DNA strands. They control how fast you
age. Each time your cells divide, the caps get shorter, and your cells get weaker and older. When telomeres get short enough, cell division stops and life comes to an end.

When telomeres in your cells get shorter, you start noticing straggly hair, brittle nails, and dry, wrinkled skin. In fact, stress may shorten your telomeres so much that you look YEARS older than you really are.

Stress damages your cells at the DNA level by shortening telomeres. But you can reverse that damage by turning on your body’s natural telomerase.  That’s the enzyme that helps rebuild and maintain your telomeres. You can switch on telomerase in just minutes every day through a simple meditation practice.

RelaxA recent study showed listening to relaxing music or meditating for just 12 minutes a day can have a positive effect. After only 8 weeks, telomerase activity in the relaxation group only increased 3.7%. But in the meditation group it shot up by 43%.

Higher telomerase activity means your telomeres are preserving their length and protecting your cells. It slows down the signs of aging that appear in your skin, hair and nails.

Meditation can be as simple as sitting for a few minutes and focusing on your breath.

For beginners, I suggest these easy steps:

1. Find a quiet, comfortable place to sit. A chair is fine.

2. Rest your hands in your lap or on your stomach. Close your eyes.Meditation For Stress Reduction

3. At first, don’t try to change your breathing. Just notice how your breath flows naturally.

4. Next, gently make your breath deeper, feeling your stomach rise and fall.

5. Notice your breath becoming quieter, slower and more regular.

6. If your thoughts become distracted, bring your focus back to your breath.

Try to sit quietly in meditation for just 10 minutes every day.

Staying Young Forever?

hydrate skin

Dry Dehydrated SkinMost of us Australian and New Zealand women have some degree of dehydration. This is one of the primary reasons for tired looking skin and wrinkle because dehydration can quickly make you look years older than you really are. Now, when I talk about dehydration I’m not talking about dry skin. They’re two different things.

If your skin type is “dry” it means your sebaceous glands produce relatively little healthy oils. Having a dry skin type can be part of your genetic makeup you’re generally that way for life. The good news is, this can also be addressed.

Dehydrated skin on the other hand is a temporary condition. Even people with an oily skin type can be dehydrated from time to time. When it happens, your skin can feel itchy, tight and scaly. Most people reach for a moisturizer to get rid of the dryness. But that may just make it worse. Here’s why….

Your Skin Needs Oil To Seal In Moisture

Sink Saturate SealYour skin is made up of about 30% water. Most of that moisture is stored in the two lower layers of skin. The top layer – the epidermis – can’t draw down into those layers to take up moisture. The only way moisture travels up to the epidermis is when new cells pushing up into the top layer carry it there.

Once those new cells bring moisture up, the epidermis must lock it in. Your skin produces a film of water and oil to seal in the moisture. It’s called the “hydro-lipid barrier.”

When the hydro-lipid barrier breaks down, water evaporates too quickly from the epidermis… and of course your skin becomes dehydrated. Too much exposure to harsh winds or intense sun can strip the protective hydro-lipid barrier.

Your diet can also sap moisture. Dry processed foods, too much sodium, and excessive alcohol and caffeine will all leave you dehydrated. Medications like diuretics and cold and flu remedies will also dry out your skin. What do you do? Using the wrong moisturizer can make dehydration worse.

Let’s look at how we can all follow a simple two-part strategy to banish dehydration.

Drink WaterFirst, drink water to moisturize your skin from the inside out. It insures that the deep layers of your skin have the moisture needed to produce new cells that hydrate the epidermis.

Second, ditch moisturizers that make dehydrated skin worse. While drinking water is a good strategy for improving skin hydration, applying water to the skin is not. Many inexpensive moisturizers contain a high percentage of water. That water just sits on top of your skin and quickly evaporates. It can leave your skin feeling worse instead of better.

Dehydrated skin calls for products which replenish moisture but don’t add water. That means your moisturizer must contain an emollient. Emollients are ingredients added to moisturizers to seal in the skin’s natural moisture. Aloe or Shea butter are two examples.

Here at LifeCell Australia our CELL Infuse Anti-Aging Spritz is ideal. Finely misted over your make-up, it contains all the nutrients your skin requires to remain healthy. Our No 1 Product LifeCell Cream is always the first product to use, followed by the CELL Infuse Renew Serum and finally the CELL Infuse CoQ10 complex. This makes a great combination pack to retain the moisture needed for your skin to exhibit that envied, healthy glow…

The Seven Ingredients To Avoid In Processed Foods

dangerous-food-additives

The Seven Ingredients to Avoid in Processed Foods

Processed foods are filled with many unhealthy ingredients like preservatives, flavorings and dyes. More than 3,000 food additives are poured into our foods — and even our medications. Many of these chemicals are linked to prostate cancer, other cancers, heart disease, diabetes and wide range of health problems.

Dangerous Food Additives

It is difficult to avoid all processed foods, but learning how to avoid the seven worst ingredients can help you focus on what to look for when reading labels. If you see any of the following ingredients on a food label, you may want to put the box back on the shelf and keep shopping. These ingredients are detrimental for your health and should be avoided if possible. In fact, if you have been suffering with unexplained headaches, bowel troubles or allergy-like symptoms, it may be time to look at your diet and eliminate some of the ingredients in processed foods.

Here’s a closer look at each type of additive and the health problems associated with it…

1. Monosodium Glutamate (MSG)Harmful Food Additives
Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is a flavour enhancer found in many frozen dinners, salad dressings, chips and meats. MSG is mostly made up of the same neurotransmitter used by your pancreas, eyes, brain, nervous system and other organs for initiating processes in your body.

MSG overexcites your cells and causes the nerves in the brain to fire rapidly and repeatedly, leading to damage or death. This additive may worsen or trigger Alzheimer’s disease, Lou Gehrig’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. MSG commonly causes headaches as well as heart palpitations, and an increased desire to eat more food. You have to use caution in reading labels for MSG: It can hide other under other names and be included in a variety of other additives such as yeast extract, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, vegetable powder, glutamate, caseinate and natural flavour.

2. Artificial Sweeteners
One of the biggest myths about artificial sweeteners is that they can help you lose weight. Found in diet foods, low-calorie foods, drinks and liquid medications, artificial sweeteners are meant to reduce the amount of sugar and calories consumed. However, ingesting artificial sweeteners can actually lead to even greater weight gain than results from consuming sugar. Artificial sweeteners are found under the names aspartame, sucralose (Splenda), saccharin and acesulfame potassium.

Artificial sweeteners can also cause headaches and dizziness, and some of them have even been linked to cancer. The amino acids in aspartame launch an attack on your cells, creating a toxic cellular overstimulation similar to the one that MSG causes. Artificial sweeteners, especially sucralose, inactivate digestive enzymes, changing the function of the gut barrier. That can cause or worsen inflammatory bowel disease. Research has shown that sucralose destroys up to 50 percent of your beneficial gut flora.

3. High-Fructose Corn Syrup
Foods Containing Additives
High-fructose corn syrup is an inexpensive alternative to sugar, but the cost to your health is that it can tax and damage your liver the same way that alcohol does. The fructose in high-fructose corn syrup goes directly to your liver, where it is metabolized into fat to be stored in your fat cells. It leads to obesity, heart disease, insulin resistance and other related health problems. You can find this additive in sodas, juices, many processed foods and liquid medications.

4. Artificial Flavours
Artificial flavours are used to mimic the taste of natural ingredients and make processed foods taste better. This category is very broad and unknown. One artificial flavour can contain almost 50 chemicals. Artificial flavors can contain genetically modified flavor enhancers, as can “natural flavour.” Artificial flavours are linked to allergic reactions and behavioral reactions.

5. Artificial Colors
Each year, 15 million pounds of artificial food dyes are poured into U.S. foods. Nine of the approved food dyes are linked to cancer and hyperactivity in children, as well as allergy-like reactions and sinus problems. These colorful dyes may make food, candy and even over-the-counter medicines look more attractive; but you should try your best to avoid these deceptive dyes.

6. Trans Fats
Say No To These Foods Trans fats are the least healthy fats you can eat. These solid fats originated as healthier, liquid vegetable oils but were hydrogenated to form a solid fat. these can cause many health problems. Avoid these completely. Trans fats can raise your triglyceride level and low density lipoprotein level (LDL) (otherwise known as your bad cholesterol), increasing your risk for a heart attack. Trans fats are linked to prostate cancer, heart disease, diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease.

7. Preservatives
Processed foods have a lot of preservatives because these additives lengthen a food’s shelf life. Problems associated with preservatives can include allergic reactions, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, possibly cancer, etc.

Preservatives to avoid include BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole), BHT (butylated hydrozyttoluene), TBQQ (tertiary butyl hydroquinone), sodium nitrate, sodium nitrate and sodium benzoate as well as polysorbate 60, 65 and 80. Both BHA and BHT can affect the neurological system of the brain, alter your behavior and potentially cause cancer. TBHQ is a chemical preservative linked to cancer that can also can cause tinnitus, nausea and vomiting. Sodium nitrate, commonly found in cured meats (hot dogs, deli meat and bacon), has been linked with higher rates of stomach, and pancreatic cancer. It is worth it to buy nitrate-free options. Sodium benzoate, found in juices and sodas, has been linked to allergies.

The sulfites found in dried fruits, flavoured vinegars and wine are other preservatives that cause undesirable reactions. They especially can affect people with asthma. Sulfites may cause headaches, rashes, bowel irritability and behavioral problems.

Fresh Fruit Grocery AisleThe Solution

Generally fresher products is best and avoid the processed foods aisles that contain long lists of preservatives, sweeteners and unnatural ingredients. Carefully read the labels for foods and medicines so you can avoid the seven worst types of ingredients in processed foods. Doing this can help you protect your brain, prostate, heart and overall health.

Drink THIS First Thing in the Morning

lemon juice

This daily trick can help you improve your digestion and boost your metabolism & energy levels.

Detox Your Body You’re bombarded with toxins in today’s modern world… everywhere from the polluted air you breathe, the water you drink, the shampoos and other cosmetics that lather your body with chemicals, and of course, all of the chemical additives, pesticides, hormones, antibiotics and other harmful compounds in the food that you eat.

All of these TOXINS can have harmful effects on your body, harming your metabolism and hormones, impairing your digestive system, and zapping your energy levels. If I could tell you ONE thing that you could do each morning right as you wake up to help your body eliminate some of these toxins, improve your digestion, stimulate your metabolism, and BOOST your energy, would you do it? Of course you would… and it takes less than 1 minute!

Here’s the trick… I know many of you already do it, but perhaps great reminder re the benefits this one thing will do.

Lemon JuiceImmediately upon waking each day, squeeze about 1/2 to 1 full lemon (depending on size of the lemon) into an glass of warm or room temperature purified water. This is gentler on your body first thing in the morning compared to ice cold water. I’ve found that slicing the lemon into quarters before squeezing by hand is easier than squeezing halves. Drink this at least 10 minutes before eating any food for the day.

Make sure to use fresh organic lemons to make this drink, and not bottled lemon juice. You want to use organic lemons to avoid the pesticides that can accumulate.

According to a leading health publication, TheAlternativeDaily.com:

Lemon Slices

The health promoting benefits of lemons are powerful. For centuries, it has been known that lemons contain powerful antibacterial, antiviral and immune boosting components. We know that lemons are a great digestive aid and liver cleanser.

Lemons contain citric acid, magnesium, bioflavonoids, vitamin C, pectin, calcium and limonene, which supercharge our immunity so that the body can fight infection.

Lemons are considered one of the most alkalizing foods you can eat. This may seem untrue as they are acidic on their own. However, in the body, lemons are alkaline; the citric acid does not create acidity once it has been metabolized. The minerals in lemons are actually what helps to alkalize the blood. Most people are too acidic (from eating too much sugar and grains), and drinking warm lemon water helps reduce overall acidity, drawing uric acid from the joints. This reduces the pain and inflammation which many people feel. And the American Cancer Society recommends warm lemon water to encourage regular bowel movements.”

3 Major benefits of this morning drink to your body, health, and energy:

Boost Your Energy1. Improves your digestion:

Lemon juice helps your body improve digestion and stimulates bile production. Lemon juice can even be an aid for heartburn and indigestion.

2. Boosts your energy for the day:

Even just the scent of lemon juice has been shown to improve your mood and energy levels, and reduce anxiety. Plus the detoxifying effect and alkalizing effect of fresh organic lemon juice can improve your energy through the removal of toxins from your body.

3. Helps you to lose fat:

Improve Digestion And Lose Fat

Since lemon juice helps to improve your digestive system, aids in removal of toxins, and increases your energy levels, this all combines together to help you to lose body fat as well through improving your hormonal balance… Yet another reason to add warm lemon water to your daily morning routine!

That’s a pretty simple trick isn’t it?

Here’s to staying healthy and simply beautiful.!!

A Natural Solution for Brittle Hair

healthy beautiful hair

Does your hair break more easily? Are you seeing more hair in your brush?

healthy-beautiful-hairThis isn’t uncommon today. I personally experienced this earlier this year, I have always had very thick dark hair and suddenly it was looking a little thinner and dull, today I will share my thoughts.

Many women are concerned about the health, strength and look of their hair. And if they notice brittle strands or dull coloring, they usually cut it short to keep it manageable and somewhat healthy looking.

Some people spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on special potions and lotions for their hair that don’t give them the results they want. Or some simply accept that their hair is destined to be thin and brittle as they get older.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. I learnt of an effective, natural way to bring out the natural beauty of your hair… without hours of styling or spending hundreds of dollars on expensive products.

It’s called biotin.

Biotin

Biotin (also known as vitamin B7 or vitamin H) has been used traditionally to promote hair health, strength and manageability by increasing hair elasticity and by thickening the strands of hair (and the cuticles of your nails). The most effective way to boost this vital vitamin in your system is to eat foods that are biotin-rich, such as the hair, nails and hooves of animals. And back when your ancestors ate all parts of the animal, biotin deficiencies weren’t a problem.

sources-of-biotin

Biotin is found in low concentrations in the brain, liver and muscle tissue in your body. And it helps promote healthy blood cells, nerve tissue, skin and hair. This vitamin is created from the yeast and good bacteria in your body. It works by helping your system produce keratin, the protein responsible for keeping your hair shiny and healthy.

But I don’t expect you to grind up hooves and sprinkle it on your salad. Ha Ha! That’s why I suggest using a biotin supplement. Either orally or topically.

If you decide to take a oral biotin supplement, I suggest from research 5,000 micrograms a day, that is what I took for three months. If you choose a topical formula, it works especially well when combined with the niacinamide. It also helps to prevent cholesterol from collecting on the scalp – which can also be concerning.

Do consider either forms of biotin to have your hair looking strong & healthy. Don’t just wash your hair, nourish it.

Want to Look and Feel Younger?

look and feel younger

You bet. We all do. Here’s what I’ve discovered in my very personal research. There are hundreds of skin care products out there, and I’ve tried a good number of them. Along the way, I’ve found some useful skin care tips and a few products that help somewhat. But nothing life changing.

Then I found a new way to look at the issue. What do those who’s lives actually depend on looking great all the time actually use? You know, the “pretty” people – the ones whose livelihood rests on how good they look. Having the most at stake, and the resources to find and buy the best products, these people know what works best.

Actors, models, and royalty are always in the news and getting their pictures taken, often without a moment’s notice. Would you like to know how they do it? Let’s find out exactly what the “beautiful” people use to keep their skin looking fresh and youthful, both in person and in front of cameras.

healthy livingOne of the products they brag about is LifeCell skin cream. However there are some fundamental skin care issues which everyone should know, regardless what beauty products they subsequently apply. Anti aging skin care has a lot to do with total body care. Taking care of the body is the best path to taking care of the skin. Anti aging skin care begins from within.

Here are some tips to look and feel younger:

1. Take supplements. (Taking a good daily vitamin is the place to start)
2. Eat a balanced diet
3. Stay out of direct sunlight.
4. Keep body weight down. (If body weight remains stable, skin care has a solid foundation to build upon.)
5. Watch your medications. (Check the medications you take to make sure they don’t affect your skin adversely)
6. Eat at regular intervals. (Skipping a meal a day or reducing food consumption may have a direct effect on skin. This occurs because of a reduction of insulin intake)

What Is Your Biggest Skin Problem?eye-wrinkles

* Crows Feet
* Bags under eyes
* Dark circles under eyes
* Acne scars
* Forehead wrinkles

These concerns can be addressed by using LifeCell anti-ageing cream.

It’s a common myth that you have to spend a fortune to look young and beautiful. While some extra cash doesn’t hurt, you really don’t need expensive injections or cosmetic surgery to look your best. The right anti wrinkle cream along with excellent lifestyle habits will do the job quite nicely. LifeCell cream is one of the most intriguing skin care products available today. Here’s why…
