Would you like to look radiant, forever?
You may look in the mirror and see a dull complexion but, when I look at you, I see thirsty skin. In fact, I see a lot of thirsty skin in Australia and New Zealand!
Dehydration is one of the primary reasons for tired looking skin and wrinkles, and most of us experience it to some degree. Dehydration can quickly make you look years older than you really are. But don’t worry, there’s plenty you can do about it. First, let’s get something clear: when I talk about dehydration I’m not talking about dry skin; these are two different things.
The secret to revealing radiant skin
If your skin type is “dry” – and this may be part of your genetic makeup – it means your sebaceous glands produce relatively few healthy oils. Your skin is made up of about 30 per cent water. Most of that moisture is stored in the two lower layers of skin. The top layer – the epidermis – can’t draw down into the layers below to take up moisture; the only way moisture travels up to the epidermis is when new cells carry it there.
Once those new cells bring moisture up, the epidermis must lock it in. To do this, your skin produces a film of water and oil to seal in the moisture. This is called the “hydro-lipid barrier”. Too much exposure to harsh winds or intense sun can strip the protective hydrolipid barrier, and when it breaks down, water evaporates too quickly from the epidermis, leaving your skin dehydrated. Your diet can also sap moisture. Dry, processed foods, too much sodium and excessive alcohol and caffeine will all leave you dehydrated.
It’s true what they say – radiance comes from within
First, drink water to moisturise your skin from the inside out. Secondly, consider nutritionally supporting your skin with organic nourishment that will help cells retain the water.
Our CELL Infuse Super Greens, which I developed myself, is designed with the core ingredients you need for healthy skin cells. Next, ditch moisturisers with harmful chemicals that make dehydrated skin worse. An effective moisturiser must contain a natural emollient (as opposed to a chemical substitute). Emollients seal in the skin’s natural moisture – Aloe or Shea butter are two examples of safe, effective emollients.
Our Number 1 Product, LifeCell Cream is always the first product to use. I also recommend our CELL Infuse Anti-Aging Spritz, with the power of Aloe, followed by the CELL Infuse CoQ10 complex to seal in the moisture.
And, soon to be released, our CELL Infuse Organic Restore Night Cream also contains a high percentage of both Aloe and Shea Butter. By treating and and retaining the moisture both inside and out, you can certainly achieve that enviable, healthy glow known as radiance.
Here’s to a more beautiful you!
